What should you confirm with your institution and the company?
Before accepting, clarify duties, your supervisor, dates, working hours, workplace, any allowance, covered expenses and social protection. Have your institution and the company approve the internship framework; it must fit the chosen scheme.
Pay and financial terms must be confirmed for each opportunity. Request written confirmation of the amount, payment schedule and expenses you will bear so that you can build your budget.
Which Social Security procedures should you check?
Since 1 January 2024, training placements covered by the Spanish scheme have been included in Social Security, whether paid or unpaid. Check whether the scheme applies and which entity is responsible for registrations and contributions in your case. Source: Seguridad Social, training placements.
